What Is This Song About?

"This track is mostly about emerging from the haze of a past relationship and rediscovering yourself again. I often write about heartache, but have never really covered what comes after; clarity, hope, and the idea that broken hearts still beat just fine."

What Was Your Inspiration For This Song?

"One of my favorite things to do on weekends is to wake up early, put on a pot of coffee, and then go back to sleep while it brews. It was a Saturday in January of 2020 (before things started going south) and I was whistling what would become the main melody line when it started raining. I thought “how artsy of me would it be to write a song about this right now” and what was supposed to be a joke about living my “brooding artist” stereotype turned into this...
